WebJan 17, 2024 · Just breaking the hex off is no problem, no way the plug could "drop" in. Once you start grinding the threads out etc then you need to be careful but still it won't/can't drop in. Straight flute extractors are the way to go. In a pinch you can try to hammer a torx bit in to remove. Or just shut off the code with efi lol and forget about it jevanb WebDec 12, 2024 · After removing the 2 rear glow plugs with no issues, the #1 plug snapped off at the threads a little bit above the head. I was considering buying one of the removal kits online and also considering welding a nut on the top to try and remove. Has anyone had any luck removing these? Use a 1/4” drive ratchet with a 10mm (I think - may be 8mm but can’t remember) socket to loosen the glow plug wire hold down nut. Remove the nut.
