WebJun 25, 2024 · Violins labeled "Made in Germany" are most likely manufactured between 1921 and 1939. Ummm,,,,possibly as early as 1891 or so. In any event, if it is marked "Made in Germany" (which the OP didn't explicitly say), and a "bloated" Stainer-labeled fiddle (not yet demonstrated either), it's most probable it's a Markie.
