G protein biased ligand
WebFeb 23, 2024 · G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) are essential cell membrane signaling molecules and represent the most important class of drug targets. Some signaling pathways downstream of a GPCR may be responsible for drug adverse effects, while others mediate therapeutic efficacy. WebMethods: The archetypical µ-opioid receptor agonist morphine and, separately, the G-protein-biased µ-opioid receptor agonist oliceridine were administered to mice. These drugs were used in models of acute analgesia, analgesic tolerance, opioid-induced hyperalgesia, reward, and physical dependence.
