Thus, Ford will go down in cinematic history as one of the most influential filmmakers of all time, introducing us to what we know as the Western movie. John Ford (Cape Elizabeth (Maine), 1 februari 1894 – Palm Desert (Californië), 31 augustus 1973) was een Amerikaans filmregisseur. Hij maakte succesvol films van de jaren dertig tot de jaren zestig, en is vooral bekend om zijn westerns als Stagecoach en The Searchers.
