Web1 aug. 2013 · The Laxford Shear Zone (LSZ) runs through Loch Laxford, in the mainland outcrop of the Lewisian Gneiss Complex (Fig. 1). It is a major polyphase shear zone, some 8 km wide and WNW-trending (Coward, 1990), which separates amphibolite-facies gneisses to the north from granulite-facies gneisses to the south.
