WebApr 8, 2014 · Doors, Skylights and Windows - Pella slider lock does not lock - My Pella 15 year old sliding glass door lock mechanism does not work any more. It is not frozen. It is the kind where you turn it horizontal and close the door and it locks. I undid the locking mechanism and it does turn. It seems to be a disconnect WebMay 9, 2014 · In order to let the smell out, had opened all the windows for a day (no one was sleeping in the home, so it was OK for it to get cold). At the end of the day, when most of the smell was out, I started closing windows. Two of the windows refused to close beyond 75%. The top portion of the double hung window, slides up and down.

Retighten the screws. There may be a pocket of air pressure between the primary door and storm door. To create an escape route for the air, try raising the storm door expander or leaving the storm door window slightly open.
WebThose look relatively easy to replace. Upon closer inspection, there were a few slightly loose screws holding the lever brackets to the window and the frame. Not very loose but just enough to allow some play, which caused the hook to not grab the bracket to finish closing the window. Screws tightened, problem solved.
